Really great summary article, Macy. Been looking for something like this that gets all the points in.

I think a lot's changing in this field with the recent drops in technology costs through cloud computing. While a lot of these tools were only relevant for huge enterprises willing to pay large licensing costs, the tools will now be much more accessible and affordable to even smaller firms who can enjoy their benefits.

I'm working on a project called Ridacto (http://www.ridacto.com) that aims to use artificial intelligence techniques to help attorneys and entrepreneurs create better contracts and manage them more effectively, so your advice is right up our alley. Thanks again for sharing.

This post brings up excellent points on effective contract management. I would just like to reiterate the importance of implementing a good contract management system. For companies looking to manage hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of contracts in a given year, manually managing contracts is virtually impossible. How can an organization have visibility into such an immense amount of paper contracts? This method is an accident waiting to happen and will surely cost the organization a substantial amount of money in missed deadlines and opportunities. Implementing a good contract management solution is the best way to go, and an efficient contract management solution company will help organizations manage their contracts effectively on both the buy-side and sell-side. Topics like this and more are often discussed on the Contractnista blog ( www.contractnista.com), which is a blog that seeks to increase dialogue around contract management. Thanks!

Excellent overview of the key issues and requirements for contract management software solutions. My company recently undertook some research and found that the vast majority of companies have a very manual and disjointed contract management process. More information can be found here: http: //wp.me/pqsHx-4G

Without a system in place, it's inevitable that a company will lose track of important dates. As you point out, it's good to get organized!
